Conceived by Gustav Holst for performance “in the open air”, or as we say in laguna “en plein air”. Sāvitri finds its perfect landscape in Laguna Beach. This intimate opera will travel to two private backyard gardens, inviting you into a rare, immersive encounter where nature and music meet.
Though originally imagined for an outdoor setting, the work has almost never been experienced this way. This production brings that vision to life with a full chamber orchestra, a women’s chorus, and three soloists.
Begin the evening with a pre-concert talk led by conductor Brian Holman, accompanied by a glass of wine. Following the performance, stay for a Q&A with the artists, a special encore, and the chance to meet the performers up close.
