Debra Ehrhardt brings her powerful new two-person play to Laguna Beach in an intimate theatrical event that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. Based on her true-life journey from Jamaica to the United States, Look What Fell Out De Mango Tree explores the weight of what remains unspoken in families, the stories we inherit without realizing it, and the healing that forgiveness can make possible. This is a story about parents doing the best they can with what they have been given, sometimes with pain and empty toolboxes in hand. As children, we rarely see the full picture. The missing pieces of our personal histories quietly shape our relationships until we find the courage to face them. Joining Ehrhardt on stage is Juilliard-trained actor Christopher Grossett, whose theatre credits include Lincoln Center, Syracuse Stage, and numerous acclaimed productions. The production is directed by Oscar & Grammy winner Paul Williams, the legendary songwriter behind classics such as We’ve Only Just Begun, Rainy Days and Mondays, Evergreen, and Rainbow Connection. Williams brings his mastery of emotional storytelling to this intimate stage production. Ehrhardt is an internationally acclaimed storyteller whose previous works have received major critical praise and sold-out runs in Los Angeles and New York. With Look What Fell Out De Mango Tree, she continues her tradition of blending humor, vulnerability, and emotional truth into a moving theatrical experience.
