Laguna Beach Garden Club presents Bringing the Lagoon Back to Laguna

Laguna Beach Garden Club’s monthly meeting and speaker series will convene Friday, April 10 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
The featured speaker is Ed Almanza presenting “Bringing the Lagoon Back to Laguna.” Ed is vice-chair of the Laguna Ocean Foundation project and manager of the Aliso Creek Estuary Restoration Project and has coordinated the Laguna Shorebird Survey.

As a professional environmental planner, his work focuses on the science of habitat management and natural resource conservation. The multi-level estuary effort is designed to engage the public in the expansion of the wetland habitat for all creatures to enjoy.
His professional work focuses on implementing the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the science of habitat management. He has authored dozens of environmental documents for local municipalities in Orange County.
A native southern Californian, Almanza first moved to Laguna Beach in 1971.
The event begins at 9:30-10 a.m. for social time and refreshments, with the meeting promptly beginning at 10. It’s held at Laguna Presbyterian Church in Tankersley Hall located at 415 Forest Ave.
