Known as the California Riviera, Laguna Beach is more than just a pretty seaside town, it's a hotbed for adventure.
Outdoorsman and adventure photographer Josiah Q. Roe recently visited and explored from the back trails to the canyon and from hidden coves to Seal Rock for The Outbound adventure site. His highlights will inspire you to find inspiration for your next Laguna Beach adventure.
15,000 acres of coastal wilderness, mountains and canyons; over 40 miles of official and an *unknown* amount primitive trails (many made and maintained by the world-famous local mountain biking community). Every Wednesday evening you can find the #lagunarads climbing up and bombing-down thousand-foot hills overlooking the Pacific. Get it. #mylagunabeach @visitlaguna
10' swells and in the trough all you could see were walls of water. A grey whale and it's baby passed by to the west while elephant seals sunbathed and cormorants dive off rocks. Suddenly there's a school of dolphins surrounding and leaping, and I panic trying not to drop my cameras, dumping them into the drybox, laughing. All of the waters off Laguna Beach for 10 square miles are a protected, part of the Laguna Beach State Marine Reserve and the Laguna Beach State Marine Conservation Area. It's pristine, it's magic, and you can surf, swim, dive, snorkel, and kayak the whole damn thing, just leave no trace you were there. @visitlaguna #mylagunabeach @lavidalaguna
