With nearly 100 art galleries in Laguna Beach, the question is not "Where do we find the art?" but "How do we get around to see it all?"
Our city, founded as an art colony, has continued to protect and promote the creative talent and innovation here in Laguna Beach. To dip your toe in, we recommend attending First Thursday's Art Walk, which occurs on the first Thursday of each month. All of the galleries throw their doors open and quite often offer personal tours from the resident and visiting artists, drinks and appetizers. Of course, admission is always free, and the Laguna Beach trolleys shuttle art lovers around town as an added courtesy.
At the "crown" of Laguna Beach, just north of Main Beach sits our lauded Laguna Art Museum, the oldest museum in California. Certainly one of the more innovative museums around, the Laguna Art Museum offers a variety of workshops, tours, artist keynote events, children's activities and featured live music in its galleries on the second Thursday of every month in partnership with Laguna Beach Live!.
Follow our calendar here as many galleries and consortiums of artists will host their own events during the month, especially around the holidays. Or, connect with guides and maps that offer a complete index of the galleries and their style of featured art (i.e. traditional fine art, contemporary, wildlife, California, sculpture, fine art, paintings and more).
