LBCAC Comedy Series Friday, August 1 • Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center After a terrific inaugural evening that filled the room with laughter, connection, and rave reviews, the LBCAC Comedy Series returns with an all new lineup of nationally recognized comedians for another unforgettable night of stand-up comedy in the intimate listening room setting of the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center. Returning as host is Laguna Beach resident Matt Balaker, whose quick wit, engaging style, and sharp observational comedy helped make opening night such a memorable experience. Matt’s credits include VICE TV’s Dark Side of Comedy, Hulu, SiriusXM, The Adam Carolla Podcast, Thick Skin with Jeffrey Ross, and Conan. He is also the co-author of Greg Giraldo: A Comedian’s Story, the acclaimed biography of one of comedy’s most respected voices. Headlining the evening is Jason Collings, an acclaimed stand-up comedian and actor whose razor-sharp observational humor, conversational storytelling, and expressive physical comedy have made him a favorite with audiences nationwide. Jason has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, BET Comic View, VH1, and Live at Gotham, and is a regular performer at legendary venues including The Comedy Store, Laugh Factory, The Improv, The Ice House, The Comedy & Magic Club, Punchline, and the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club. Joining the lineup is Laura Hayden, an internationally touring comedian, author, speaker, and educator whose intelligent, high-energy comedy has entertained audiences from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to military bases throughout the Middle East, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Her television appearances include Stand Up in Stilettos on the TV Guide Network and Laughs on FOX. Known as “Dr. Laura, but not that Dr. Laura,” she combines quick wit with a unique perspective on the healing power of laughter. Together, these three outstanding comedians promise an evening that is smart, energetic, unpredictable, and laugh-out-loud funny. The LBCAC Comedy Series is about more than presenting a great comedy show. It is about creating a lasting home for exceptional live comedy in Laguna Beach.
