Owner and Executive Chef, Leo Bongarra, brings his extensive and impressive experience to the kitchen of Laguna Beach’s newest culinary hotspot, Tango. The inspiration for Tango comes from Chef Bongarra’s upbringing in Argentina. His South American approach to cooking and hospitality focuses on unique, bold flavors while creating an atmosphere in his restaurants where guests always feel welcome.  

With more than 20 years of experience, Chef Bongarra is always innovating and pushing the culinary boundaries, and it’s easy to see why he has garnered such a loyal following from the guests he has served. He has a distinct method to his creative madness, and is always eager to serve diners things they’ve never had before. Tango will showcase Chef Bongarra’s unparalleled and exceptional cuisine that he is known for. 

Tango’s menu highlights Chef Bongarra’s eclectic background. From studying in Rome to being the Chef de Cuisine at the trendy and popular, Saline, inside the Hotel Joaquin in Laguna Beach, to the Executive Chef at the famed Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, Chef Bongarra’s resume is as impressive as the dishes he serves. In addition to running some of the most exclusive kitchens in Southern California, Chef Bongarra has also catered some of Hollywood’s biggest nights including the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes.
