Laguna Beach's Annual Patriot's Day Parade

Laguna Beach’s Annual Patriot’s Day Parade

We will be celebrating the stars and stripes this weekend in Laguna Beach for the annual Patriot’s Day Parade.

This is the 56th anniversary of the parade and it promises to be a firecracker of a blast. Started in 1967, the first Patriot’s Day Parade began during a tumultuous time in our country’s history. Many were divided over the Vietnam War and we were becoming fractured as a country. Emily Ross, American Revolution War heroine, decided to start the parade as a way to bring the community together under the banner of patriotism and love for our country. In the last 50 years we have had more difficult times, disasters both in the city and as a nation, and yet we have endured. Today we continue to come together to celebrate our diversity and unity as a city, and as a country. Come out and show your support! Enjoy floats that range from goofy to traditional, classic cars, local bands, horses, the Laguna Beach Fire Department, dance troupes and much, much more.
