The Clean Laguna Campaign encourages residents and visitors to steward what they love by helping keep Laguna clean, especially during the busy summer season. Grounded in the mantra “Laguna Like a Local,” the campaign frames cleanliness as a shared Laguna value.

Through simple, positive cues integrated into public spaces around the city on bins, benches, banners, and murals—the campaign inspires small actions to help make a real difference. Rolled out in five phases, the effort allows the City to plan, create, map, deploy, and refine the campaign over time.

The Forest Promenade transforms lower Forest Avenue into a permanent, pedestrian-focused public space in Laguna Beach. With planning and design complete, the project has entered the construction phase. Progressing through five coordinated phases including site preparation, demolition and underground utilities, streetscape construction, surface finishes and public-use features, and final operational adjustments. Construction is coordinated to support nearby retailers by maintaining access, minimizing disruption, and providing free off-site parking on Lower Ocean Ave. Work is expected to wrap up in June, with the City monitoring conditions and making adjustments to support both short and long-term community benefit.

Artists have long been a defining force in shaping the iconic identity of Laguna Beach. To keep that legacy intact, the City is actively advancing an ongoing effort to preserve affordable live/work spaces for working artists. Through the establishment of a Community Land Trust, the acquisition of canyon properties, and continued exploration of long-term housing solutions, Laguna is protecting opportunities for artists with deep ties to the community. Through this initiative, we are able to ensure creative continuity and keep a legacy of art and creativity as part of Laguna’s future.

The Laguna College of Art + Design Innovation Center is a new interdisciplinary academic and exhibition facility designed to bring students, alumni, faculty, industry partners, and the broader community together under one roof. The project has advanced through a phased development process, beginning with visioning, campus planning, and a major philanthropic capital campaign, followed by design development, approvals, and site preparation at LCAD’s Big Bend campus. Now in active construction, remaining phases include interior build-out, exhibition installation, and operational readiness, representing a long-term investment in creative education in Laguna Beach.
