As part of the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center’s citywide Juneteenth celebration, we proudly present a powerhouse night of music featuring acclaimed Louisiana blues-rocker Jonathon “Boogie” Long—known for his electrifying guitar work, soulful vocals, and powerful storytelling. But this isn’t just a concert—it’s a moment of recognition and restoration. During this special performance, LBCAC will also shine a long-overdue spotlight on O’Malley Jones, an extraordinary yet under recognized African American soul and blues vocalist with deep musical roots and a voice that channels the legacy of Sam Cooke and the fire of James Brown. Born into a family of twelve with a mother who once shared musical connections with Ray Charles, O’Malley’s story is one of raw talent, quiet perseverance, and overlooked brilliance.

In a heartfelt 2–3 song featured set, O’Malley Jones will take the stage in what will be a professionally recorded tribute, captured in high-definition audio and video—an act of artistic preservation in keeping with the spirit of Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the power of cultural voice.

Presented as part of LBCAC’s Blues Legend Series—Orange County’s premier stage for nationally touring blues artists—this performance takes place in one of Southern California’s most intimate and acoustically rich venues. Thanks to a state-of-the-art QSC sound system, generously donated by QSC founder Pat Quilter, every note will resonate with depth and clarity.

This concert is a key component of LBCAC’s broader Juneteenth programming, which also includes:

A dramatic theatrical performance exploring the legacy of Abraham Lincoln

A stirring Gospel and Reggae Celebration of Liberation

And a powerful film screening and community dialogue centered on African American history and cultural contributions

Together, these events form a unified celebration of Black excellence, past and present rooted in truth, powered by art, and guided by LBCAC’s mission to activate the power of the arts for the benefit of the community.
