After nearly 25 years of working at luxury hotels and resorts around the globe, award-winning Chef Craig Strong has come full circle to his native Southern California roots with the opening of Ocean at Main. Everything from its name, Ocean at Main, to the last drop of a favorite California wine is designed to gift guests with the quintessential Southern California dining experience. Here, Strong continues his devotion to sourcing the finest products available from local purveyors and suppliers as he creates approachable contemporary Coastal California cuisine and a convivial ambiance to please the nearby community and beyond.
Ocean at Main is located in the early 1940’s building that once housed the venerable Laguna Beach financial institution, Laguna Federal Savings and Loan on Ocean Avenue near Main Beach. Taking a cue from the building’s legacy and locale, the restaurant’s new interior design was masterminded by Laguna-based Laurie Alter of Tuvalu Home. Alter imparts her coastal-centric style into a fresh and forward-thinking design scheme – paying homage to the area’s breezy natural surroundings.
Chef Craig Strong and his kitchen crew at Ocean at Main are now offering a winning Brunch Menu on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weekend brunchers will enjoy all their favorites prepared with chef’s Coastal Cuisine influence and plated with panache – along with unexpected pizza variations baked in the restaurant’s traditional brick oven.
