19 Cent Taco Celebration in Laguna Beach

Do you remember when tacos were only 19 cents?

You would if you were visiting Laguna Beach in 1967. That’s when Taco Bell opened its doors to the mission-style building at 699 South Coast Highway. It is one of the oldest (3rd) operating Taco Bell restaurants, celebrating 50 years in Laguna Beach. The first location opened in 1962 in the City of Downey, California.

2017 marks the 55th Anniversary of the chain and this Saturday, Taco Bell will be celebrating this milestone by rolling back prices to the original 19 cents price! That’s right, you read that correctly, you can purchase their famous crunchy tacos for 19 cents from 12noon until 3pm (limited 10 per person). Also, enjoy FREE Dorito Loco Tacos (while supplies last) from 10am-12noon, free T-shirts, live music and a check presentation to the Boys & Girls club will round out the celebration.

The Laguna Beach location holds a special spot in the history of Taco Bell as it was the first location to have indoor seating and done in the famous mission-style with an arch and bell --- all with an ocean view. It has become a part of the fabric of Laguna Beach and new buildings and the city have continued to evolve around it.
