Because we have so many cove beaches in Laguna Beach, you will find plenty of beginner and intermediate waves to perfect your surf stance. Our most popular surfing beaches span from north to south and include the Rockpile (north) and mid-town beaches of St. Ann’s, Thalia Street and Pearl Street. Included in the mid-town surfing arena is Brook’s Street, which is usually responsible for larger surf and more experienced surfers in the water. Surfing lessons are always available for group or private instruction at many surf shops, including Thalia Surf Shop, La Vida Laguna, Toes on the Nose (home to Steinriede who has been crowned the U.S. Women’s Longboard Champion), and Laguna’s oldest surf shop, Laguna Surf and Sport, home of the acclaimed summer surf school with Steven Chew (aka: Sli Dawg). Below are the beaches that allow surfing, and don't forget to check out the surf report!
