The Sawdust Art Festival is unlike any other place in Southern California. Founded 49 years ago to showcase the incredible work of artists that live in Laguna Beach, it is an eclectic collection of arts & crafts that highlights the city's artistic roots. The grounds of Sawdust are tucked away in the canyon and add to the originality of the festival. As soon as you walk onto the Sawdust grounds you are transformed into another world. A canopy of eucalyptus trees cover you, the ground is covered in a thick layer of wood chips and a waterfall and stream trickle down in the backdrop adding to the feeling that you’re in an enchanted forest. Since every booth at the festival is designed and built by the artists themselves, wandering through the aisles of the 200 artist booths is like meandering through an actual painting. Sawdust Art Festival is totally unique and it’s no wonder it has become a summer staple as a “must see” in Laguna Beach.
