Selanne Steak Tavern Brings Home Golden Foodie Award for Best Wine

(Laguna Beach, CA) -- Last night at the annual 2015 Golden Foodies Awards held at Fairmont Newport Beach, Selanne Steak Tavern received Best Wine Award for the restaurant's wine list, service and overall program. The award, which was accepted by Leo Fenn, director of operations, was presented by Master Sommelier Michael Jordan and was one of twenty-four awards in various categories given to outstanding culinary industry professionals determined by people's choice voting.

The Golden Foodies Awards was established four years ago to recognize the excellence of culinary talent in Orange County, California. It celebrates chefs, other food industry professionals and restaurants for giving service and superior food and beverage experiences to so many people. This year's red carpet ceremony was a sold-out affair hosted by noted chef and media celebrity Simon Majumdar.

"We are very proud to have been awarded the Best Wine Award at this year's Golden Foodies Awards," said Fenn who helms the restaurant's wine and beverage lists, staff training and events. "Our wine list focuses on California cult wines and other highly rated world-class selections designed to complement the fine steaks and seafood offerings presented by our executive chef Joshua Severson."

In addition to the customary wine list, Selanne Steak Tavern offers "The BlackList" consisting of a select group of high-end, hard-to-find global wines with a reference component for guests to learn more about the selections on a provided iPad while they are dining.
