(Laguna Beach, CA) -- The Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau was honored with the "Best Overall Marketing Campaign for a Destination" at the 2007 Marketing Excellence Awards held last week during the annual Conference on Tourism in Sacramento, California, produced by the California Travel Industry Association.

The winning campaign was voted the best in its category for a destination. The annual awards program is sponsored by the California Travel and Tourism Commission. Several hundred delegates attending the conference had the opportunity to review each of the campaign finalists and chose winners in different categories through electronic voting.

"On behalf of the entire Laguna Beach Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, we are extremely proud to receive this prestigious award," said Judy Bijlani, Executive Director. "Laguna Beach is a very special destination any time of year and our goal was to drive that message. It was wonderful that peers in our industry confirmed what the Board of Directors has worked hard to deliver."

Each campaign entered into the competition must have been introduced within the last year. Among winners in other categories included Sea World, Knott's Berry Farm, The San Diego Visitors & Conference Bureau as well as the N. Lake Tahoe Visitors & Conference Bureau.

The "Be Inspired" campaign for Laguna Beach was developed to achieve consistent branding of all advertising, public relations and collateral materials by reinforcing Laguna Beach as an artists' colony and beach community.
